100 years of solitude. Because it creates and then destroys a magical place with magical people and ties it all up together with a nice, neat ribbon. Macondo forever! (or well, for 100 years at least)

The 48 laws of power. It teaches you the art of persuasion, how to stay calm in certain situations, what you should do, and it teaches you this with real stories from the past so that you can learn from the mistakes and learnings of the most important people in history.

So many...for diff reasons... When I was in high school, Catcher in the Rye was a fav for the character's boldness, the travel, and his sense of loneliness. Now if I read it, being older, it grounds me, I of course hv a diff point of view, but its still poignant and connects me with my youth. ✌

a current fav is the thursday murder club by richard osman. it’s centered on a group of elderly in a home, discussing cases every thursday, hence the title. one day a murder occurs and they try to solve it. 🤓 i love it for the balance bet. drama and whimsy! who would’ve thought to create that combo?! 🤎

Gotta be Dune. Read it so many times. Tension, world building, in-depth characters, clever, epic, different.
