Coyotes looked a bit small. Maybe inexperienced juveniles that had not encountered a cat before?

There's a steady trickle of housecat-chases-off-bear videos/articles. No clue how often that aggression works--I guess your average person probably wouldn't post the equivalent vid of a bear eating their brave cat... Coyotes might also be reacting from familiarity with one or more wild cat species?
