During extreme heat, women are more at risk due to physiological differences Older women die more than older men, and middle aged women are just as vulnerable as older men https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/09/240904130841.htm To conduct this study, researchers had older adults swallow a thermometer. “Before the experiment, participants swallowed a tiny device encased in a capsule that measured their core temperature throughout the experiment.”

Nice read, would love to know if race or location generally can affect heat tolerance. Would a constant exposure to the sun build you some kind of tolerance or would the skin being melanated reduce the heat you feel?
