I commit to lift heavy weights a few times each remaining day in 2024, and then to figure out a more optimized program

Happy to chat about your practice if helpful. Stronglifts is a simple (but not easy!) place to start

I’d eagerly welcome that. Part of this commitment was low key trying to Cunningham my way into getting advice on how to go about this more intelligently 😅 I’m a rookie to fitness as fitness, mostly I’ve just exercised by doing chores and sports in the past. I’ll look into stronglifts for starters 👍

Great. Welcome to the club. Fitness is an incredible practice to build and the mental effects are substantial. A few tips: - figure out what time of day is best to build a routine. some people prefer first thing in the morning, at lunch, after work - exercise every day. even if you just walk into the room and stretch and do a small routine. it helps build a routine. - music can help you get in the zone. put your phone in another room. - write down your routine and put it somewhere in the room where you can see it. I recommend a chalkboard.
