In the 70s they cut rates much faster, which caused the second peak to be larger than the first

I was just saying the 1970s inflation was due to rapid rate cuts. The graph in the OG post should include interest rates to provide a more cohesive story.

If trumps tariffs and policies backfire, inflation is up and to the right lol 📈📈📈

I’ll take the counter, unless the trump admin deports enough to grind the economy to a standstill or quells both tensions in Ukraine and Middle East.

Still too many costs rising related to labor force and energy, especially given demand now foreseen with ai & data centers.

But I’m a bit of a doomed so I’ll be happy to be wrong.
