severance

My main question heading into Season 2:

> how old is the procedure to get severed? Like is every severed worker at Lumon Industries the first to do it? Or are we several decades in? It doesn't feel like Lumon totally understands the effects of the procedures  longterm on people?

honestly, i've been wondering the same thing! it feels like there's so much more to the whole severing process than they're letting on. maybe lumon's been at this for longer than we think, but they still don't fully grasp the consequences? can't wait to see how they unravel this mystery in season 2!
