- exchanges
- some NFT marketplaces although it looks increasingly like their take rate is going to 0%
- metamask/consensys
- (maybe) some node infra providers

All revenue from registrations/renewals goes to the DAO which funds ENS DAO Working Groups and ENS Labs. Never VC funded, spun out of EF with grant from Vitalik

nansen (reportedly 13M in revenue https://www.zoominfo.com/c/nansen/511915357)  and chainalysis have lots pf paying customers.

aave/ compound revenue numbers are public cos they're on-chain https://tokenterminal.com/terminal/projects/aave/financial-statement and https://tokenterminal.com/terminal/projects/compound/financial-statement (although they do seem unprofitable when accounted for token incentives)
