My 16 year old wants to try his first beer. Are there any issues with this? And if not, what beer should I pick? Thoughts?

i think you should allow him to firstly, itโ€™s great that he shared this with you, it shows he trusts you secondly, heโ€™ll always remember he had his first beer with his dad thirdly if you say no, he could just go behind your back and do it, and become sneaky

Thx thatโ€™s approximately my thinking on the matter as well. And definitely what I did much younger than he is now.

As a former 14 y/o who drank and smoked cigars with my pops but to excess at all, plus my friends (with their parents knowledge permission too ofc). Honestly my best memories AND both my bff and I didnโ€™t go to weird or unsafe, no parentals parties bc they literally didnโ€™t compare to our hanging out, having a good time with my dad. Ciders are best tasting until your palette develops, low ABV preferable obvi + a hot tub, youโ€™re gonna have a great time.
