What would it take to see Farcaster among the top Social Media apps? TikTok gained popularity by recommending videos based on users' viewing habits, language settings, location, and preferred hashtags. But Farcaster algo isn't that catchy. The content feels too random and not personalized. Yet we can see that social media habits can change fast. So, what would it take for Farcaster to go beyond crypto natives?

First, Farcaster should focus on attracting crypto users, especially from Crypto Twitter where Twitter’s recommendation algorithm excels. Providing more firsthand project information and updates from KOLs is crucial. like users interested in the Base ecosystem would find Farcaster useful for updates. Additionally, innovative socialfi apps on Farcaster could also draw more users. Attracting non-crypto users is challenging due to competition with Twitter's large user base, and even Meta's Threads has faced difficulties in this regard. Farcaster needs to be inclusive, creating inviting spaces across different channels and curating content that users enjoy. Improving user retention brings us back to the recommendation algorithm, with initiatives like OpenRank making strides in this area. Farcaster’s open, decentralized database is ideal for experimenting with recommendation algorithms and applying them to various clients. This customizability is very cool. But it assumes that people using the app are smart lol In tiktok, the moment you create the app, it becomes addictive. Not saying Farcaster needs to be addictive. I think Farcaster could become the super app that X wants to become. But on blockchain
