How do people feel about colleges ditching admissions tests (SATs, ACT)?

Doing things.  Builder, lawyer, mother.  Not your lawyer, also not your mother.

What are some examples of other equitable ways to assess academic merit?

Learning new things: Ruby, Sumi-e, boogie.

A standardized test that every person will get seems pretty good.  The disparity is access to the tutoring and the underlying long term education.  Getting rid of the standardized test doesn’t fix the underlying problem of bad k-12 education.  Improving k-12 is what we need.  Everything else is a distraction.

This is the rub. Is there a more equitable way that accounts for the entire student and their culture, upbringing and privilege, while still being able to implement a structured system for assessing merit.
