They sell over-engineered & complex services to massive enterprises all over the world and have a network of consultants to provide assistance maintaining their software at those enterprises. Organizations, with the help of these consultants, update their org structures, and business practices so it fits the Oracle system better. This allows further lock-in to the provider. No way out. It's the most complex sh%% ever, had to deal w this at an acquisition for British Telecom, took the data engineering team 5 days to print 6 months of data and it was the size of global map.. Impossible to transition to another platform once you take that plunge.. Biggest SaaS racket. Ever.
