spent some time reflecting on why i’ve been so unmotivated to try new apps lately. i think it’s in part because there aren’t enough apps taking advantage of my portable data. if i have to create a username, add an email, deposit funds, select preferences, follow people, etc then i instantly close the app. i’ve already done all these things—i have an ens and farcaster with a pfp and bio set, i have several follower graphs on multiple apps, i own thousands of nfts and years of transactions that represent my interests, and i have all kinds of funds on many chains in my wallet. at this point, as a consumer, my expectation is to just connect my wallet and have everything populated. i should NEVER have to experience a cold start or onboarding flow again. i should never have to feel like a first-time user. this is crypto’s unique advantage. it’s the most magical part of being a crypto native. why aren’t more apps taking advantage of it?

a lot of founders think along the lines "i'll integrate farcaster but its too small to make it a core of my identity stack" without realizing that farcaster userbase is totally enough these days to test retention and early traction and on top of that you can also onboard your own users to farcaster if it's actually too small for you imo we are a few months away from building on farcaster to be the consensus the best way to launch a product, till then people will try to launch their own graphs bc their ego tells them they are too good for fc
