the numbers on polymarket's buttons have always been confusing to me. it presents the price per outcome you want to bet, which is the least useful information, imho. i always feel embarrassed by how much time it takes to realize that the price per bet corresponds to the percent of that outcome (i.e. 64¢ means 64% odds). i also have no desire to think about betting in terms of "shares." i just want to bet $100 on yes or no and quickly determine how much i'd make if i win. which of these button patterns accomplishes that? https://zora.co/collect/zora:0x5abf0c04ab7196e2bdd19313b479baebd9f7791b/184

thought you posted a screenshot lol, felt like they have those bright green buttons all over the place having % in is a bit better but too small of a detail I think, and how you can see below % isn't always exactly what's the cost of getting in is but if you want to bet X amount, you don't care how many shares you're buying

i think b is the clearest d is cool but takes too long to understand when drunk betting which is likely when the app gets the most use

What if the buttons showed what you'd make for betting a $1? I think the current system Polymarket employs for buttons/UI is pretty good but it does require a user to know some assumptions (every market settles at $1, basic probabilities/statistics knowledge, etc)

b is simplest, but I think it’s worth iterating on d more (maybe odds but with the button sizes of c?) there’s something useful in knowing not just the potential outcome (odds) but also how many people are betting on each

Let’s go to the classic online betting system. Like 1.5X (option B). You bet $100, and if=true, you got $150 (your 100 + 50)

I can’t agree more, I find polymarket confusing to use and has hindered me from making a bet ( maybe that’s why they are hiring a product designer 😬) I feel like the bet and the action button should be separated to make it more clear.
