Bitcoin kicked off in 2009 with Satoshi Nakamoto’s whitepaper and first block. Early adopters were cypherpunks and techies trading on forums like BitcoinTalk.
The first real-world transaction didn’t happen until 2010, adoption grew thru forums like BitcoinTalk, where people traded ideas, code, & eventually coins. By 2011, it started catching attention, with exchanges like Mt. Gox to make trading easier—a different story.
The Pizza Story: In 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz made history, buying two pizzas for 10,000 BTC—now worth millions. It’s celebrated as Bitcoin Pizza Day every year.
The Silk Road Story: In 2011, Silk Road emerged, a dark web market using Bitcoin for drugs and more, handling over $1 billion before its 2013 takedown. Exchanges like Mt. Gox also sprouted, fueling growth amid chaos. From obscure code to global intrigue, Bitcoin’s start was a rollercoaster.
