The problem is that building things to rely solely on incentives is in many cases impractical. A purely in-protocol automated system has no way to "pay people to be decentralized".

There is wrong use of the technology and then there are guiding principles. They don’t always overlap.

“Social” here essentially means culture, which we know is naturally deteriorating.

Incentives, on the other hand, is a design. Which can be modeled. And is usually not a function of time.
