My 10 yo daughter and I have been reading "Anne of Green Gables" at her request. I'm ashamed to say I've never read it before but the thing is a masterpiece and at first I was amazed my daughter still wanted me to keep reading because I was positive most of the older words/verbage were flying over her head, but she's stuck through with it and seems to really enjoy it. We're nearly done with it and I'll be saddened when it's over. Highly recommended if you have a daughter with a huge imagination. Any follow on similar books y'all can recommend?

"Pippi Longstocking" by Astrid Lindgren: A fun and adventurous story about a strong, independent girl. 20 $DEGEN to know kids still read books

I'm 45 and grew up with Pippi Longstocking. I identified with her so much, that adventurous independence is still an important part of me to this day.
