How competitive are arbitrage bots on L2s? Is it even worth trying as an amateur?

i mean the same code that runs on L1s will run on L2s, right? if so, then it just depends on whether or not the big hedgefunds have started deploying on L2s. I played with arbitrage bots a while back and it was fun. Never made money.

It's not about solidity code, more like node/infra setup and how fast you can get and process mempool info

then it's just a matter of the hardware? also can you even run an arbitrage bot if transactions get rolled up?

hardware plays a part if you run a node yourself, something not really possible for most L2s. Main factors are: - process txs that are broadcasted to the network but not yet included in a block, that would create arb opportunities - get your arb transaction included in the block after target tx is included, but before someone frontruns you OP wonders if that's doable in L2s as building/sequencing is centralized
