is anyone aware of a way to sign in a user via an api route in nextjs + nextauth?

specifically trying to auth users when coming through warpcast—the post api route that warpcast sends has the user's fid, and I want to sign them via on the post route handler

two things I plan to ship as channels update gets closer:
1. auto mark attended when clicking the join link on @event frames / DCs
2. allow you to auto invite your attendees as members of your channel

Upcoming channel changes

We're *previewing* some upcoming changes so people 1) can understand and 2) provide feedback.

These changes are not launching yet. It will be a couple weeks. There will also be a bunch of communication to channel owners.

raw thoughts on the new direction:
- I think it'll push channels to develop their own unique identities
- I like splitting up hosts / members / followers and making it clear in the UI who is in / out. helps curate the vibe and give credit to contributors.
- more ppl will cast w/o a channel now and that is better. reduces "where to cast this" decision fatigue. fewer steps -> easier to cast -> more casts

it'll take work and friction to retrain the userbase, but I think this a strongly positive move. Right now channels are trying to be two things at once, better to pick one and go with it.

what do ppl use to host their nextjs app besides vercel?

this is an area where warpcast can offer a clear and legitimate benefit over other social networks... if other apps don't have AI spam they will for sure soon. Strongly doubt their presence is simply a function of making money. It's just the future of spam.
