As an Eastern European myself, I’m a big fan of Žižek. Though he’s a respected academic and public figure, to me he perfectly embodies the slavic boomer—a more refined version of that one uncle we all have, who, at every party, drunkenly projects his deeply internalized coping mechanisms for surviving the trauma leviathan born of decades in a Soviet state.

i reached A2 german in about a year, studying on and off. how I approached it month by month: 1: Duolingo to the first 150 words 2-4: focus on grammar and A1 level reading and listening (special books, youtube) 5-8: mostly everyday exposure in Austria, primarily reading and listening 8-12: exposure + 10 new words per day with Anki to start stretching my vocabulary to B1 I expect to reach B1 within the next 3 months through Anki + exposure. anything you would do differently?

I continue to build with @dish @btayengco and team despite the shocking news of alex’ history. looking forward to hearing more about how this unfolded - many lessons for me to learn here. from all the irl jams/calls I’ve had with alex he always placed a big emphasis on keeping his identity private. I never quite understood it, but did trust to be just some kind of ideological or otherwise harmless expression. I think from this point onwards I’ll start putting more of my trust in people who aren’t afraid to reveal who they are in real life

farcaster ticker mentions are ready on clank.fun 💬 this is a fun weekend project so far! indexing mentions only by QDAU users - top 1k reward winners. once this is launched, anyone will be able to DYOR by looking at both on-chain and on-hub metrics for new and existing clankers 💪 inspired by @tomu's $checkr of course, which leans more heavily into social analytics and exposes some great hub analysis for coins. I've been wanting to play around with hub data since the early days of clank.fun, and finally feel confident to push in this direction a bit more now that the indexer is stable and the UI allows more expressive queries.
