Wow so SAFE has temporarily paused services while they investigate what happened in the Bybit hack. The front end is inaccessible for transactions. Alternative front ends and CLI interactions appear to remain online. The investigation is ongoing. If SAFE is compromised this is far worse than the Bybit hack. So far no evidence has surfaced and let’s hope it remains that way.

Lots of known unknowns in this proposed model. 1. Most content is ephemeral, so ad revenue will be short lived with steep drop off 2. Viral content isn’t easy to make and that’s the only type that would earn substantial revenue 3. Buy and burns rarely increase the value of the coin unless there’s an imbalance of demand to the contracting supply. IMO not a sustainable model although very possible via things like v4 hooks.

I was purging a bunch of old files from my Google Drive, and among the absolutely horrendous pitch decks for un-pursued ventures dating back to 2014, I found this gem of a map I created some years ago. What's the point of launching a token? For revenue-generating businesses, traditional capital raising methods already exist. So a token must provide genuine utility within your product - something that justifies the added friction compared to using standard payments, L1 currencies, or stablecoins. While staking can reward token holders without being classified as dividends, it inflates supply and forces operators to constantly drive value into an expanding token pool instead of focusing on core business growth. So what's the actual need for your token?
