Hot Take: you should follow zero accounts with a Level 0 Spam label. This is the bad spam label. Why are you following known spammy accounts? Remove their power and disconnect them from the network! Are they great casters who got accidentally caught in the spam filter? Then save them! The algorithm isn’t perfect. We have to report false positives to make the network better. How do you know if you follow bad accounts? Details in the thread below!!

When I run @mvr ‘s cool new Dune query for active, non spammy followers, I get some interesting results. 1. Quality casters (level 2 spam label: the good one) who casted at least 4 times in 30 days (aka once a week): 5640 2. Who casted 2/3 times a week: 3,191 3. Who casted every day for the past month: 1,122 If you are here to vibe everyday, probably more important to engage with group 3 the most. I find it slightly amusing that the bot army has decided to take existing good user’s comments and put them on my 6 month old posts. It’s almost like a little Farcaster Time Capsule! P.S. if they come for you, enjoy the walk down memory lane, then hit the report button, choose spammy, and then block them.

Who you follow matters! While @geoffgolberg’s chart might make you giggle, this also shows the power we have by following good accounts and unfollowing bad ones. Bad accounts show up as separate and distinct clusters on the network. Us mere mortals can’t easily see this data, but you can help by cleaning up who you follow. Eventually true spam/bot/farm accountants only follow and interact with each other and are easy to spot. Take away their power and connection to the network!
