There is a shrine dedicated to Benzaiten right in the middle of Ueno Park. It’s in the center of the lake there and it’s a special because here she is seen as Happi-Benzaiten which literally means β€œEight Elbows Benzaiten”. This is because she has eight arms which hold different weapons for fighting off evil and she’s housed in an eight-sided building. Benzaiten is a goddess of all things that flow which includes words, wisdom, wealth, and art! I bought all the charms and prayed for all the artists on Farcaster and lit incense! Sadly, the original temple was destroyed in a bombing raid in World War 2. However, the statue of Benzaiten survived the bombing and is now enshrined in the new Main Hall which is a reconstruction of the 17th century temple and built in 1958.

I thought this meta died, but alas, a new β€œkeyword” to mute. I’ve tamed my feed a bit with muted keywords but I’m still not happy with my home feed. I’m doing my best to interact with people I want to see more of, but I’ve broken down and turned on notifications for most people. This doesn’t scale.

Sometimes my yeast are dead and I don’t pay enough attention to them and I’ve had to redo a lot of dough. Sometimes the weather is bad, the humidity is bad, and I’m proofs are shot. I bake all the time when I’m not on the road and stuff goes wrong a lot. Baking is a science and the smallest things can throw your bake into chaos. Happens to professionals too!
