Do you belong to 'a side'? If yes, I have news, when a democracy dies, there is no side you can take. It will be bad for everyone, yourself included! In "The Silent Slide - The Story of Democratic Decline" I am investigating democratic erosion and democratic backsliding to highlight the silent yet deliberate actions that need to be taken to turn a democracy into an autocracy. The patterns are always the same and undenieable, so are the facts and stats linked in the article. Looking forward to feedback, extending thoughts and even ideas on what about democracy I should investigate next. Surrealism in sculptures just gives it an edge, that it can’t have in a painting. To me paintings can sometimes feel so intimate that they bring forth a sentiment of exclusion but sculptures are tangible and directly embedded into our physical environment. Sometimes I wonder what this means in translation to digital art, XR and virtual worlds. Either way, it’s one of my weird somewhen in the week afternoon thoughts 🙂‍↕️ Btw. both sculptures are from the steady exhibit at th Museo Soumaya in Mexico City and created by Salvador Dalí (I am not sure if they were just based on his paintings or he actually crafted them; maybe someone else knows): 1- Gabinete Antropomórfico 2- Reloj Derretido

I am currently at the Museo Nacional de Antropología and the special exhibit about Amazonian culture and environment blew me away. The black and white pics are close ups of the Sebastião Salgado collection … incredible! I think I need the book 😆 (me after every exiting exhibition)!
