Surrealism in sculptures just gives it an edge, that it can’t have in a painting. To me paintings can sometimes feel so intimate that they bring forth a sentiment of exclusion but sculptures are tangible and directly embedded into our physical environment.

Sometimes I wonder what this means in translation to digital art, XR and virtual worlds. Either way, it’s one of my weird somewhen in the week afternoon thoughts 🙂‍↕️

Btw. both sculptures are from the steady exhibit at th Museo Soumaya in Mexico City and created by Salvador Dalí (I am not sure if they were just based on his paintings or he actually crafted them; maybe someone else knows):
