its easy to raise the bar but only just enough to feel better about your last decision. though not enough to push for greatness. just enough to settle. hiring’s funny like that. Talent Musings: Tales from the Talent Trenches I had a candidate I worked with, real confident in their skills. In a good way. Unemployed, but told me straight up: “I’m not in a rush and will be very selective.” They spent that time contributing to open source, deepening their crypto knowledge, and building. I sent them leads over time, most were passes. Eventually, they took a few intros. Then one hit. The one. They dropped everything else and went 120% on it. Got the offer. Accepted. That’s the story. The lesson? >You have more control than you think. >Early on, cast a wide net. But once you feel real conviction, lock in. Go all in when you have that conviction. That’s how you win. 🐍 Mamba mused. If you're frustrated about the current state of UX in crypto… Just remember, we had terrible role models growing up: Governments don’t talk to each other. Hospitals don’t talk internally. Universities are a maze. Customer support is broken. Insurance paperwork hell. Subscribing vs canceling. Apartment hunting. We inherited the dysfunction. But we don’t have to copy it. Be a better role model. Build better. Make users feel seen, not stuck.

Here’s what I’ve learned since then throughout life’s journey: Accurate ≠ Precise Power ≠ Strength Active ≠ Effective Loud ≠ Convincing Experience ≠ Mastery Confidence ≠ Competence Access ≠ Influence Zoom in.
