The Twitter owner: “President Trump must win to preserve the constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America. This is a must-win situation. Get everyone you know, drag them to register to vote. If they don’t, this will be the last election. That is my prediction.” The last election. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/oct/06/donald-trump-makes-a-theatrical-return-to-butler-scene-of-assassination-attempt

agree but the end of the world could happen and no one is really playing this card, they support more wars, it is a bit contradictory.. anyway, their voters will not realized about it 🤔

When Elon says, "If they don’t, this will be the last election." he's projecting this as a doomsday scenario that virtu signals to the corresponding audience.

he pretends to create the illusion that the democrats are going to allow massive migration to get more voters and the election will be rugged in the future.. what is more.. when (if) kamala wins.. they are going to try the same that last time.. creating de facto this doomsday scenario.. saying this election is rugged.. (even if they are telling everyone that this is the last fair election.. rn) they just lie to get more power..

What can be shocking is that the Nazi party was… very capitalist and a model to all Western nations, before the war, on how to build a successful capitalist economy. I can only cite books in French but I remember references to an American historian saying pretty much the same (digging still for the name).

Found the name as I left WC :) And made a mistake in the above, as the book is not about Westerners copying the Nazi party (still a fact in other books), but the Nazi copying race laws: https://press.princeton.edu/books/hardcover/9780691172422/hitlers-american-model

As born in Europe, I humbly disagree in general. The majority is neither Nazi nor racist. Unfortunately some loud ones are. A subtlety I learnt recently is that many voters supporting the far right in France are not racist either. A sociology researcher went to meet many over a decade, and published a surprising book recently (in French only at this point). Some may be chauvinistic and the like, but surprisingly not racist. This kind of research is eye opening, disturbing, and a form of hope.

I live in Europe too, ofc, majority is not nazi nor racist, but there is a great percentage of them, agree not all far right are racist and neonazis.. there are tons of missinformed people supporting this parties that will argue that the party is not racist.. anyway, we have an important problem with racism that cannot be ignored..

Percentage growing indeed. Personally the lesson is that people can get caught I to far right narrative just because they have to “fight for survival” and no time to really read and compare to five their own opinions. These are honest people more victims than hateful. And no idea how to break such a situation.

yeah, this is a hard situation to manage. most of them are right when they blame goverments about their situation and when the goverment is suppose to be a left party (doing nothing for working class economy) is very easy to radicalize them.. and we have no way to break it without real alternatives in politics.. there is no illusion, there is no a big project to dream with (if you are not in crypto, ofc), so, we cannot convince them

Pretty much what I also see around, sadly. Yet the solution to me is more art than tech like crypto. We may just need more Agent Cooper and Coach Ted Lasso.
