4. Following feeds are bad 

Everyone thinks they want a following feed. But even the people who ask for it churn faster when they get it. 

Following feeds get progressively worse as you follow more people. People used to complain that "the algo" didn't show them their friends.

This was surprising because at that time we didn't have an algo. It turned out they always followed a few people who casted 50 times a day and just drowned out everyone else.

am i the only one on following feed? 🤔

i get that they may be bad from an onboarding/churn perspective, bc people dont know what they want, or follow people theyre not actually interested in to start. but theyre good for liveness and synchronous events and topics, which are necessary for (esp crypto) social. izo

i use it if home feed gets boring but quickly get more bored 

even find myself hitting unfollow on ppl that are just repeating what everyone else is saying

yeah even in making you prune your following its more active than home feed, and more social vs parasocial. same on x

i just don't think normal ppl have the attention span for it, don't think we should either lol 

but that is interesting, hadn't thought of it that way
