Is it true that money cannot buy happiness?

Money can buy the things that make us happy. I believe that means money can actually buy happiness.

When people say, "money cannot buy happiness," I believe what they meant to say is "Money cannot buy lasting happiness".

Now, that's no fault of money. It is due to the insatiable nature of man. Do we truly know the things that make us happy?
