i realized the issue here. when it's volatile in the down direction i'm not built for it. when it goes up it's great

I'm not a natural trader either. Traders think discretely, and I think continuously

Eg. Trading dogma is to cut losses quickly. You lose more by remaining "attached" to an under-performing position

But if you thought that way, you couldn't run a startup. You *must* be emotionally connected even at the lows

Unironically I think this is an advantage in a trading environment where there’s a lot of volatility and asymmetric returns

Yeah, the ability to hold through drawdowns and small price spikes. Most “traders” miss out on huge wins because they lack conviction and overreact on any candle.

What does this mean in practice? The ability to go long and hold?
