Zinger ↑ is job hunting

Given the news of Dennis Crowley's new company today, fun to go back and read up on the history of his first company Dodgeball It was an SMS-based social location app (basically the precursor to Foursquare) that he launched in 2000 (pre-iPhone!) and was acquired by Google in 2005 — and subsequently abandoned in 2007 in classic Google fashion Dennis went on to co-found Foursquare in 2009 https://medium.com/rick-webb/from-the-archives-soliloquy-for-dodgeball-ed8121dee285

I really, really liked that app. Foursquare and Gowalla, as well. Before I got into tech, my job was very relational, lots of hanging out in random spots. These apps would’ve made my work so much more interesting and serendipitous.

Wow, that brings back memories. I was a super early user on FS (and still use Swarm.) The early days of FS were so fun, and there were legit benefits to being the mayor of location. I miss it!
