Most people with large audiences on Farcaster: 1. Didn't know me before Farcaster 2. Did not have large audiences on Twitter or other platforms They were early and stuck around. https://www.eugenewei.com/blog/2019/2/19/status-as-a-service

This is my experience. Started posting here and was basically the only one talking about VR. Our VR studio started to find success and I basically shared everything I was learning about VR and content with people here on Warpcast. I have 1500 followers on Twitter and over 30K here.

Appreciate all that you share on here and totally agree that the engagement on Farcaster is a lot more authentic! That being said, you likely still have more "real" followers on the bird app for now: – 35,112 Farcaster followers – 34,555 visible on Warpcast – 481 with a Power Badge (1.4%)

What is your formula for discounting Twitter followers?

Even if you discount Twitter followers by half and boost Power Badge by double (liberal on both fronts imo), it still nets out to around the same Showing a user that they have 30K followers on here is misleading

Still generous to Twitter? I have 100K followers on Twitter and most of the engagement I get on a tweet are what you would call "bots". Only reason you can judge Farcaster is the data is 100% open. Power badge is by design a small subset of the network.

You're right, wish I could judge Twitter better but a) you likely have at least 25k real followers on there and b) for smaller accounts like mine, the proportion of bots is way lower PB isn't perfect (and I appreciate you iterating) but it's the best approximation of "real" users right now, likely within 2-3x (max 5x)

Observable on the protocol* Plenty of known good users (people I onboarded) that are WAU or even DAU on Warpcast who rarely do public protocol actions.
