hypothetical - in order for Ethereum to fulfill the vision (some permutation of @vitalik.eth  's DOPE acronym) it had to be a stable value. Staking + appreciation performed about as well as A-grade commercial bonds (~5%).

If all L2s continue to settle on Ethereum, doesn’t that make Ethereum plenty valuable. If you stop chasing the ath rhetoric, it seems like Ethereum has done its job pretty damn well.
