VC love expansive complexity. Consumers do not. It's funny that apps are funded at their most complex, then needing to devolve into the simplest. Like an elephant needing to fit into a mouse hole.

do you think this applies most to VCs that invest in crypto? or do you see it as a general trend.

Shooting from the hip, It probably applies _less_ to crypto VC than general VC, but only because crypto VC have a partial exit (token) baked into their modeling.

The expansive, "change-the-world" framing has to be there, but only because they're hoping retail buys it.

Like, VC basically admitting they can't invest in Consumer until Consumer proves it can pump-and-dump as well as infra is fantastic mask-off moment. https://warpcast.com/zherring/0x90ce34a9
