I think about this often, one of my favourite poems: “so you want to be a writer” by Charles Bukowski.

Unless it comes out of your soul like a rocket,
unless being still would drive you to madness or suicide or murder,
don’t do it.

i like the vibe this poem gives me very much but i don‘t think this is how one should choose their work ethics to be in a practical sense

it’s much like the georg martin vs stephen  king interview: one waits for inspiration to strike and the other just sits down on his ass and starts writing

i choose the latter
