singularity/AI aside, relevance of college will depend on who you are and where you live. In Japan, college is a rubber stamp needed for a lot of jobs. In elite circles in the US, it can be a countersignal unless you're from one of like five select schools. The fact that you're already thinking like this means that college will probably be less valuable for your kids than those climbing up from a different point on the ladder.
