I followed PRIDE and early days of UFC. I like people that can carry a solid conversation while retaining some degree of class in and outside of sport. GSP, A. Silva, Randy Couture, Machida, I like DC lately (I think he's a great ambassador for the sport). I know, all retired. From the current fighters, I didn't follow them much so I don't know their characters. But I like seeing Holloway fight, Adesanya is always a spectacle, And of course, Jose Aldo is still fighting.

lots of great picks! think it's time for Aldo to retire, but admire that he still can get in the ring and compete. I'm not super deep into it, but likewise I appreciate those who are good /people/ beyond their accomplishments

Yeah, Aldo is a great fighter and in great shape. But speed is the first thing that goes away with age. Him being a great counter fighter that relied on speed heavily, maybe it's time. I've seen it with several fighters already, Mirko Cro Cop primarily. He was a counter striker, and once his speed left him, he was done. Dirty boxing only goes so far... A Silva also comes to mind re the same thing. Adesanya is on the same path IMO. Terrific fighter, but too reliant on speed. It goes away, you have to adjust your strategy.
