Story (1/5): The Idea

The original idea for FanSpace came out of a conversation with @maretus and @wake. 

But since nearly all my FC time goes into @moxiescout, I wasn’t actually planning on making anything. 

So it was destined to remain a fun idea until @harios came into the group chat for the /fbi Moxiethon looking for a teammate. 

I already had an entry with Moxiescout transactions, but I love working with great designers and they had a hot portfolio and were persistent in asking for a teammate, so I took them up on the offer and pitched me idea.

And we were off!

Story (2/5): Designing the Frame

After we decided to work together, I sent @harios the concept for the visual design and explained Myspace. 

They didn’t grow up using it like I did, so the first version, was, well, a bit _too_ retro.

Story (3/5): The Tom Gimmick

Tom from Myspace wasn’t actually a part of the original spec or design. 

The problem came when @degen-chad’s profile picture wouldn’t load, which was breaking a number of user’s profiles since they have some hefty investments.

Rather than try and fix their profile picture, I decided to insert Tom from Myspace instead. 

While not everyone has @degen-chad in their Top 8, almost everyone has a large share of their own token, so I decided to make your own pfp into Tom as well. 

If you have @degen-chad and yourself (like @wake), you might get lucky and have two Toms!

airstack

Story (4/5): Launch

I launched the frame from my own account to the /airstack channel and then shared the launch post in a few DC groups as well.

At first, there wasn’t much usage and then all of a sudden it exploded.

I went through and recasted anyone’s frame that I got the notification for to keep boosting it.

Story Part 5/5: Looking forward

I’ve already had several requests for a fully built-out FanSpace website. That’s probably out of scope for the moment (unless someone wants to sponsor it!). 

Nonetheless, I hope that the frame gave you a chuckle or perhaps even a brief moment of joy.
