Can't imagine this is common problem, but fyi I had looked at those settings several times and my eyes skipped over the option. 

Two reasons: 1) it's almost invisible with alongside everything else, and 2) the other settings are the same as the "Create" screen, so assumed it only had the same options

yep, click the edit button above the header. you can enter whatever hex values you want
