<very unpopular opinion> decriminalizing cannabis in the US (as opposed to legalizing it) could boost the economy so much that it might as well solve all the world's problems. but would the powers-at-be like to solve all the world's problems? that's the more important, and scarier, question to look at.

I think decriminalisation and legalisation of psychedelics will have a far larger impact than cannabis would, but hoping both happen :-)

I agree with the condition that it's as long as the states use the tax collected in a responsible manner if that's the case. I supported the last louisiana marijuana bill because it was really good on the permissions side, but the tax side to it was absolutely trash

First part, it’s fucking egregiously expensive to start a cannabis business in several states and existing legislation has left tens of thousands of folk unjustly jailed. If it was legalized, there should be a minimum pardon of inmates jailed due to cannabis. 1/
