explaining crypto debanking to normal people is always such a shock to them. yes, I actually can’t use 4/5 big national banks because they will freeze my accounts for interacting with CEXs or OTC desks. yes, they are punitive and won’t extend mortgages to clients who work in the industry. it’s all real.

the funny (not so funny) part is how many progressives get horrified when they realize the same politicians they love to support are the ones debanking their friends really throws people for a loop

it’s usually a mask off moment for them to realize that the dems are largely aligned with big banking interests, which is a hard thing to accept given other progressive policies/beliefs
