the LA fires are kind of like a wild prophetic, poetic, sublime manifestation of the macro environment like culturally and geopolitically this fire has been in progress for awhile. and now it’s physically manifested in this massive violent way the peak liberal bastion and ultimate media machine is literally burning down, not only in our cultural structures, but in the real world too the attached photo made me think this thought somehow this feels like an inflection point i say this with sadness, but as always i remain optimistic in the human spirit to overcome any hardship California will be different now though

I’m in this weird quantum state where I simultaneously believe that everything is about to change for California and nothing is about to change for California. Specifically as it relates to LA: re-reading Joan Didion and re-watching Chinatown and The Long Goodbye made me realize the situation were in today is much more similar to the past then we might think.
