Does /humankind need to scale? Or can you operate profitably as is?

Maybe I've been stuck in VC funded world for too long but I just have some concerns scaling /humankind without venture funding - not sure how I can get to 5%+ revenue per month but I would be happy with even 2.5-3%+.
