Defining the meaning and creativity of art is difficult, as many people can view it based on their perception. Many philosophers, theorists, critics, artists and muscians have argued about having the best approach to understanding art, meaning, and creativity.

As an art educator, it’s easy for me to become frustrated when aspects of visual art are misunderstood. It seems that misconceptions abound and are fairly common when it comes to art especially. Of course, we all have a different definition of what quality art is and what it should look like. But this doesn’t mean that we can’t learn to appreciate or at least, understand art from different genres other than our own favorites.
