Farcaster

@dwr.eth gets a lot of flack but maybe we should give him more grace and stop the metacritique on what's not going right on WC/FC.

In two short years, a really vibrant builder ecosystem and economy has emerged within this <10 person 🦄 company that has raised $150 Mil w/o a deck in the dead of crypto winter. 

Valuations in crypto are funny because if you think about Farcaster as an economy and not an ecosystem the rising tides have brought a lot of attention, prosperity, and distribution to fledgling projects. Like the Apple App Store in the early days of iPhone. 

So, I'm going to 🤐 and start aping Farcaster off the platform in traditional social as a true believer and evangelize for Dan's brand of Christian Rap.

I'm not saying hold on gripes at all. But celebrating wins and focusing on what's working in some areas (ex. tipping norms, bot growth, action use cases, frames adoption) in ADDITION to what's working... 

There's a lot of room for improvement, but what this small but mighty team has accomplished is certainly not to be discounted. Plus I suspect on a technical level there are some really really hard problems that would require intense tradeoffs, like spam to your point. 

I always try and chip in and flag a cast as spam or mute / block, but there should be some way to get compensated for time and effort for this b/c it's not a nominal editorial pursuit (ie. happens a lot). 

Plz don't let this cast give you a migraine. Can't wait to get coffee IRL at some point and nerd out! :)

I’m Farcaster native and Farcaster only. I don’t have any web2 socials. 

But I’m still frustrated with spam labels and how it’s being handled and will continue to be vocal about it. 

I can be all in and still have concerns about what’s going on. 

I think a lot of folks making noise are doing so because we want things to get better. We see them getting better….slowly…but we also see some things not moving at all and are frustrated with it.
