Do we feel like protocols will ever be brave and utilize proof-of-humanity solutions to distribute airdrops and just take the heat from the bots? Seems like they get fudded by the sybil-operated bots anyways.. I know Linea has been using some PoH protocols, but considering the numbers I'm not so confident it's even preventing sybils still lol. Maybe they just aren't mature enough or we just need to go back to ICOs? 😅 I kind of like the idea of everyone having access to the cheap seed prices instead but having a sybil filter + address limit. WDYT?

I'm all in favor of trying to reduce sybil farming. Using protocols should be rewarded, but when you're farming it so extractively, like some do, it can be very damaging to the protocol early in its life cycle. Distro to well intended users is most important.

I agree. It's really frustrating how many people are out there with many wallets farming everything, and even worse is the industrial farmers. And to top it off the requirements are typically pretty easy to hit imo. A very large portion of the airdrop seems to always go to sybils for the fear of backlash ☠️ All these protocols enable them. Always hoping the next big one is strict but they never are.. I'm sure they weed out "some" sybils but most are sophisticated enough to make it in. You basically need very large capital requirements that reward mostly whales or strong PoH to keep the sybils away.

I missed most of the last cycle, so I'm still a bit new to airdrops. Do you think the idea of going after tier 2 airdrops instead of tier 1 drops due to sybil farming making tier 1s smaller holds much water?

To me it feels like they are farming literally everything 😅 typically the smaller the project the smaller the airdrop and it's more sensitive to dumps. At this point I personally wouldn't try and qualify for anything other than big/medium name stuff you like. Also developing a strong social graph on things like Farcaster or Lens + get your score up on Gitcoin Passport and get proofs from some of the ID protocols. I feel like surely these will be the big differentiators for real vs sybil at some point. This is currently how I'm thinking of it but NFA! Currently sybils are still being rewarded heavily so technically you could go hard on everything and prob do REALLY well if you are willing to take on the risk and sacrifice alot of time lol. Im hoping this is the last cycle of that behavior being rewarded though ☠️
