I am *mildly* oyster obsessed (I have oyster tattoos on the oysters of my arms - I know.)
But consider:
- they are protein rich, high in zinc (supporting immune function, wound healing)
- high in iron, calcium, B12, omega-3 fatty acids, and selenium
- low cal
Also:
They are the only Carbon Neutral Species: Oysters are unique because they not only have a minimal environmental footprint but actively benefit ecosystems. Their shells sequester carbon dioxide as they grow, contributing to carbon capture.
Sustainability: Oyster farming is one of the most sustainable aquaculture practices. It requires no feed, fertilizers, or freshwater inputs, as oysters naturally filter and feed from their environment.
