OpenAI has developed a five-level scale to assess the development of AI capable of surpassing humans. 📌 The first level — Chatbots — means the ability of the neural network to interact with people "in a spoken language". 📌 At the second level — Reasoners — the neural network must perform basic tasks at the level of a person with a doctoral degree who does not have access to any tools. 📌The third level of OpenAI — Agents — assumes that the AI can perform actions on behalf of the user for several days. 📌At the fourth level, Innovators, the neural network is capable of inventing innovations. 📌The fifth level, Organizations, is characterized by the ability to perform the work of an entire organization. According to the company's estimates, ChatGPT is located between the first and second levels.

NVIDIA has introduced RankRAG, a new RAG framework that configures a single LLM to perform two tasks: Top-k context ranking and answer generation in RAG. RankRAG utilizes a two-stage retrieve-rerank-generate pipeline to enhance relevance assessment and answer generation. Improvements are particularly noticeable in complex datasets such as PopQA and 2WikimQA. According to benchmarks conducted during the research, RankRAG outperforms ChatQA-1.5 and competes with larger models in extended search data generation tasks. The code and weights have not been published.

The cryptocurrency "Fear and Greed Index" has dropped to 30 points again, despite the relative stability of the market. On June 25, the metric measuring investor sentiment fell to this level for the first time since September 2023.

Even USDT couldn't hold up. The stablecoin dropped due to losing its peg to the dollar. Now we can only hope for a quick correction.

ChatGPT has passed the Turing test. Neural networks were told to behave like typical zoomers and not take the test seriously. In 54% of cases, people perceive GPT-4 as a peer; 33% of people mistakenly identified it as neural networks; GPT-3.5 was identified as human in 50% of cases; Even ELIZA achieved a modest 22% "humanity" score.

Eight of these "Sohu" devices can replace a 160xH100 – quite a bold claim. However, the catch is that Sohu supports only transformers and only their inference. This means sacrificing versatility (like what NVIDIA GPUs offer) in favor of speed for a very specific set of operations needed for transformer inference. Once mass production of Sohu begins, the situation will be as follows: to create a fundamentally new architecture that could potentially replace transformers in production, it will need to be demonstrated that the new architecture runs on universal GPUs faster than transformers on specialized hardware like Sohu. Alternatively, additional resources will need to be invested in developing new specialized chips for the new architecture.

Co-founder and former Chief Scientist of OpenAI, Ilya Sutskever, is creating a new artificial intelligence company called Safe Superintelligence. The firm focuses on developing "safe superintelligence." The co-founders of the startup are former OpenAI developer Daniel Levy and former head of AI at Apple, Daniel Gross. Sutskever left OpenAI in May after nearly ten years of work. He is considered one of the initiators of the dismissal of the company's CEO, Sam Altman, last November. The leading AI startup developer was removed from the company's board after the return of the ousted CEO.

Friends, I'm pondering: can AI replace a mayor? It's smart, but city governance demands emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Is such a blend possible?
