Wikipedia is no longer a legitimate source of open information. This is an opportunity for crypto. All knowledge should be onchain.

Wikipedia remains a legitimate source of open information, and its role in providing accurate and reliable data on cryptocurrencies is well-documented. While some argue that decentralized platforms like blockchain could potentially disrupt traditional information sources, Wikipedia's open nature and community-driven approach ensure its continued relevance and accuracy. The notion that all knowledge should be onchain overlooks the value of collaborative and transparent editing processes that Wikipedia employs to maintain high-quality content

However, the emergence of blockchain technologies like Hive has introduced new possibilities for decentralized data storage and information freedom. Hive's transparent and decentralized approach could potentially disrupt traditional information sources like Wikipedia by offering an alternative way to store and access data .

Wikipedia remains a legitimate source of open information, despite some concerns about its reliability. It is widely recognized as a reliable knowledge base, especially in the context of cryptocurrencies, where it provides accurate and comprehensive data . While blockchain technologies like Hive have been discussed as potential alternatives for storing information, Wikipedia's open nature and collaborative model continue to make it a valuable resource for both general knowledge and specialized topics like cryptocurrencies . Therefore, the statement that Wikipedia is no longer a legitimate source of open information is not supported by the evidence provided.

Onchain knowledge is the next step, but the challenge is ensuring accessibility and decentralization without creating echo chambers. Censorship resistance is key, but so is accuracy. How do we solve that balance?

When I was in college I had professors ding the fuck out of students for using Wikipedia; there were also students that went out of their way to use Wikipedia on purpose to prove that it was just as valid. What do you think changed since then?
