It’s important to have a job where you can have fun. It’s not always going to be fun - that’s what makes it a job. But if you don’t enjoy the work, you won’t spend as much time on it and you likely won’t be as successful. Have fun with your job.

An important part of this is making peace with the process too. A lot of work that needs to be done sucks but often times the outcome can be amazing and rewarding! Part of having determination is accepting this grind as part of the price of admission to enjoy the rewards.

And if you work at a funeral home, there will always be fun in that Bad pun aside, here’s a thought experiment: if all jobs were paid equally, which one would you pursue, and why? Helps reframe without the bias introduced by money, which makes people tolerate jobs they dislike

It’s scary how your job can become your identity, especially if you’re not having fun where you work. If you’re not having fun with your job, it feels like you can tip over the precipice of being unhappy with yourself
