In World War II, when the planes used during the war came back for repair, they thought that the parts exposed to the bullets should be covered with a more durable material. Later, an idea was presented. They argued that it would not be right to cover the parts hit by the bullets, that the planes that were hit by the bullets in these areas returned to the hangar, and that the planes that crashed and did not return to the hangar must have been hit by bullets in other areas and that is why they crashed. This idea was later successful and there were fewer plane losses.
